Venice is an eclectic beach community that traces its roots to land developer Abbot Kinney. Abbot Kinney Boulevard, running diagonally through Venice, was named "The Coolest Block In America" by GQ Magazine in 2012.
Bounded on the South by Washington Boulevard and Venice Pier, on the north by Navy/Dewy Streets and on the east (give or take a few blocks on the south end) by Walgrove Avenue, Venice boasts Muscle Beach, Ocean Front Walk (more casually known as the "Venice Boardwalk"), acclaimed surf hotspot Venice Breakwater, the Venice Pier and other sports and water-oriented landmarks.
Venice has always been known as a hangout for the creative and the artistic, going back to the 1960's. It's no wonder Venice is the gritty creative heart of Silicon Beach.
